The biggest celebration of LGBT+ culture in Yorkshire, Leeds Pride 2022, is back after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic.

This year’s festival is set to be the biggest one yet, and is taking place in Leeds on Sunday August 7, with event areas and the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade set to see thousands parade through Leeds City Centre.

What is the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade?

The Leeds Pride 2022 Parade is the annual parade taking place during the Leeds Pride 2022 Festival. The parade will include more than 130 floats, including the Leeds United FC Marching Out Together with both current and past Premier League football players attending.

When is the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade taking place?

The Leeds Pride Parade 2022 will take place on Sunday August 7 and starts at 2:00pm in Millennium Square, and finishes at Lower Briggate, where the First Direct Stage will host a line up of live entertainment including Tulisa, Sandie Thom and Rupaul Drag Race’s Lawrence Chaney.

Where will the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade take place?

The Leeds Pride 2022 Parade, this year named the Robert Payne Parade, will start off at 2:00pm on Sunday August 7, and will finish at Lower Briggate.

The full route for the Leeds Pride 2022 Robert Payne Parade is as follows:

Will there be road closures during the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade?

The Leeds Pride 2022 Parade will go through big parts of Leeds City Centre, so there will be severe disruptions to traffic and buses on the affected roads.

Lower Briggate, Call Lane and Meadow Lane will be closed from 4:00am to 23:59pm, so the traffic on these roads will be diverted all day and not just during the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade.

Anyone who wants to can join the Leeds Pride 2022 Parade once all the registered floats have left Millennium Square on Sunday August 7. The parade and all of the events, including food outlets, outdoor bars and live entertainment, is free for anyone to enter.
