He says there is great optimism for the future in Leeds city centre.

The Laynes Espresso founder has already had a steady return of customers but says his business depends heavily on a return of more office workers and commuters.

He was speaking in the latest #BacktoLeeds interview series from LeedsBID as part of its Welcome Back To Leeds marketing campaign and safety messages to help reboot the city centre economy.

Dave, at Laynes Espresso in 16 New Station Street, Leeds, said: "Customers want to come back and the normality to return.

"Somewhere like Laynes is very often part of somebody's routine to have something good to look forward to. That little pocket of the day where you look forward to doing something nice.

"The positivity is in knowing that people want to see that come back. They want to support as soon as they feel comfortable to do so.

"It is a steady return. It's not like people have started to come flooding back into the city - we are waiting for the workforce to come back, the office workers and the commuters. That's our bread and butter really.

"Hopefully we will see a lot of drive and creativity on the other side of this. We could see an acceleration of venues and places. People just want positivity after months of this - people want to be looking forward with optimism."
