The company has spent £3.2 million developing the pub, on the site of the former Elinor Lupton Centre, in Headingley Lane.

Food will be served throughout the day, from opening until 10.30pm every day.

The pub has retained the original auditorium as the main ground floor bar area and the existing church organ facade has been repurposed as a feature fireplace.

The pub will be wheelchair accessible, with lift access to the first-floor dining area and a specially adapted toilet for people with disabilities.

Historical photos and details of local history, as well as artwork and images of local scenes and characters of the area, are displayed in the pub, together with information boards relating to events.

The grade II-listed building was originally designed for the First Church of Christ Scientist by local architect William Peel Scofield as a Sunday school and was finally completed in 1934.
