First look inside new Headingley Wetherspoons The Golden Beam

Leeds' latest Wetherspoons pub The Golden Beam is opening on Tuesday, June 8.

The company has spent £3.2 million developing the pub, on the site of the former Elinor Lupton Centre, in Headingley Lane.

1. The Golden Beam

Wetherspoons' plan attracted some opposition from local residents. The company said people doing the Otley Run pub crawl would not be allowed in.

There is outdoor seating to the front and rear of the pub.

The Golden Beam is based in the former Elinor Lupton Centre, which has been empty since 2010 when the former Leeds Girls’ High School vacated it.

‘A Golden Beam’ depicts a grand house and a leafy suburban lane, in the last of the evening light.

Wetherspoons has spent £3.2 million developing the pub.

The Golden Beam will be open from 8am until 11pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 8am until 11.30pm, Friday and Saturday.
