Dogs Trust in Leeds has several dogs and puppies and these are the ones that currently need rehoming (all photos from Dogs Trust Leeds):
13. Malaki
Labrador cross Malaki is a sweet four-year-old boy. He has lots of potential and loves to learn, and is friendly with everyone he meets although he can be a little shy at times. Needing to be the only pet at home, Malaki is big and can be strong on his lead. He enjoys being out on his walks but needs to be walked in quiet dog areas. Malaki will need active owners who can keep up with him and who are also willing to help him with his training. He is a foodie and loves a game of fetch. Malaki could live with children aged 16 and over and will need a good settling in period with his owners around all of the time to help him settle. He wants to find his new home now!
Poppy is a five-year-old lurcher and according to Dogs Trust she is anxious and can look a little worried. Once settled into her new home with a new life and a bit of TLC, Poppy should be fine. She will need an enclosed garden with high fencing for off lead exercise. A lover of quiet walks, Poppy is very much a sofa dog that likes plenty of cuddles. When she was younger she was attacked by a smaller dog and is now quite mistrusting around them. Poppy will need to be the only pet in the home as she has a prey drive as a lurcher. She would prefer a home without young children, but those aged 16 and over should be fine. Poppy loves a tennis ball or anything to chase to keep her entertained. So, if you're in need of a loveable sofa buddy, then Poppy could be the one for you. She is ready for her new home but may need a couple of visits before.
Rumba is an ex-racing greyhound who at five-years-old has hung up his racing shoes and is looking for his next adventure. He has turned his paws to training and learning new tracks and is quite the training whizz. Rumba loves his food and is eager to please if there is a tasty reward coming his way. He does have a strong chase instinct but happily wears his muzzle when out and about. He's a real joy to walk and is friendly with similar looking dogs to himself, especially other sighthounds. Rumba isn't a cuddler and prefers more active interactions like training or play time, but he does show a more affectionate side sometimes. He needs a home with people who have the same passion for training as he does. Although there was an incident in a previous home when he was lying on a sofa, the Dogs Trust training team has worked hard to develop a number of verbal and visual cues which Rumba responds brilliantly to, to avoid him being in a similar situation again. He needs an adult-only home with a family who have the
Six-year-old Stanley is a big strong boy looking for an active home. He will need to be the only pet in the home. Stanley likes to know where his owners are and will need a home where his family are at home with him during the day. Stanley is looking for a quiet home with no neighbouring dogs and quiet walks available locally. He should be fine living with children aged 15 years upwards. Stanley travels well and would enjoy finding new quiet walks to explore. He is a smart boy and is looking for a family that enjoys training. Stanley will make an incredibly fun addition to the home.
Wilbur is a wonderful boy with loads of potential. He is two years old and still has a lot to learn, but he's getting there. Unfortunately, he is a real worrier and doesn't like sudden noises or busy environments. He has a tendency to chase traffic and other small animals so he'll need to live in quite a rural area where he has immediate access to peaceful walks directly from his home. He prefers his own company and is not one for much fuss. He really enjoys playing with his toys and he's slowly learning how to include people in his games. Tug seems to be his current favourite! Wilbur needs a home with understanding, patient owners who are willing to continue his training. He needs an adult only environment with people who will give him the space he needs and love him just as he is. He will initially need you around all the time to settle him in. He is not keen on other dogs and has a strong natural chase instinct so cannot share his home with any other pets. He'll need a secure garden with 6ft fence so he ha
