He said: “I’m really excited. It’s a journey me and my business partner Bhavik can’t wait to start together.

“It’s a lovely up and coming area so it felt like the perfect place to bring the franchise. And since we’ve put the sign up everyone’s been saying how excited they are for us to open.”

It will be the fourth family-run Bengal Brasserie to open across Leeds; following the success of their flagship restaurant on Haddon Road in Burley and subsequent openings in the Merrion Centre and Wetherby.

The business was started by Jahead’s dad Mohan Miah, who helped open the first restaurant in York in 1992 before bringing the chain to Leeds.

The menu encapsulates cuisines from across India and Bangladesh and the restaurants have become renowned for their fresh, delicious food and the fun and lively atmosphere.

Jahead said: “It will be the same food and same style but with a twist. We’ll be introducing cocktails to the menu and serving up some unique, new dishes.”

He added that the restaurant will begin providing the Sunday buffet menu - one of the staples of the other sites - in January next year.

The Haddon Road spot, which is run by Jahead’s brother Shakeel, has twice won Best Restaurant at the Curry Life Awards in recent years and has long been a favourite among Leeds residents.
