45. Roundhay Park
One of two large boathouses built on northern tip of Waterloo Lake in Roundhay Park. In its hey-day it could accommodate 150 boats. This bandstand, octagonal in shape, was located between Middle Walk and the Carriage Drive in Roundhay Park. It was raised to give a good view to crowds, as seen here, who flocked to listen to the regular Sunday concerts. Chapeltown Cavalry Baracks and what appears to be the parade ground. Leeds Rifles used the old riding school & parade ground for 80 years until they transferred to Harewood Barracks in 1967.
