Changing Leeds - Life on the buses during the 1960s

It was the decade which featured a gear change for public transport in Leeds.

Leeds Central bus station was built at the same time and in the same style as the Quarry Hill flats in 1938. The original bus station was used as the back-drop for the opening credits of Yorkshire Television sitcom, Queenie's Castle. It was refurbished in 1964 and helped transform travel across the city with thousands depending on bus services for work, rest and play. Were you one of them? Enjoy this gallery of memories.
