The 1930s saw the opening of Leeds Civic Hall by King George V and Queen Mary (August 1933) while BBC opened Broadcasting House on Woodhouse Lane (1933). The decade also saw the opening of Leeds Central bus station (1938) and the first flats occupied at Quarry Hill (March 1938).
