Woodhouse Lane in July 1948. This is between the junctions with Cookridge Street and Portland Crescent. To the left at no 65 is Weavers shirtmakers, and no 71 is just visible of Fred Hutchinson the picture framers. The two main shop fronts in the photo show a toy and goods shop with the name Phil Kaye in the window. At no 67, there are books and pamphlets in the window and a sign saying Read The Daily Worker , Young Communist League, in the first floor window is a sign which reads The Communist Party Leeds City Committee.
