Father Timothy Lipscomb and St Bartholomew's Church in Armley was left counting the cost after thieves stole Yorkshire stone flagstones leading up to the place of worship. This was 1996, a year which also pedestrian safety improved on Stanningley Road thanks to the installation of a pelican crossing.
