Two valuable stained glass windows in a former Methodist church have been given away by their new owners in December 1981 - The Bangladesh Islamic Association. The windows, which show Christ receiving a soldier into heaven and winged angels, were originally in Temple Street Methodist Church, Keighley. But earlier in the year the listed building was bought by the association for conversion into a mosque. It was decided that the windows would have to be removed because it is against the Muslim religion to have representations of living things in a mosque. The association has given the windows to Bradford Metropolitan Council, previous owner of the building. They were being restored by York Glaziers Trust. Photo: YPN
