Gino Webster, Alan Redfern, John Cavalier and Andy Howe were hoping to set pulses racing with a striptease to raise money for the Fire Brigades Benevolence Fund. The quartet were being professionally choreographed by Gail Marsden of Dance Arena for their performance at the back end of 1998. It was a 12 months which also left care home residents facing an uncertain future, local schoolchildren helping with a fundraising drive for orphans in Romania, and baby joy on Christmas Day for one local family.
