But video taken in Briggate on Saturday night appears to show people flouting the rules.

While going out to pubs, bars and restaurants is still allowed in Leeds, the rules state you should only socialise with members of up to two households.

The video, taken by Josh Sedman, shows a large group of people singing and dancing together to a street busker in one of Leeds' busiest streets.

His friend Liaqat Ali, co-founder of Leeds Pride, posted the video with the caption: "People like this are pushing Leeds towards lockdown!"

Josh told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I think with the news that Leeds could go into lock down I think it’s all very stupid and selfish.

"I’m sure they’ll be the first to complain if it’s locked back down."

But he did add that Leeds is still quieter than pre-lockdown as venues implement strict measures on how many people they admit."

"It wasn’t like it used to be - I think people now realise you need a booking to get in places or you’d be very disappointed," he added.
