New walk-in Covid testing site opens up inside Victoria Leeds shopping centre offering Fit to Fly service

A new Covid testing service has opened in inside the luxury Victoria Leeds shopping centre.

The walk-in Cignpost ExpressTest facility has opened in a previous vacant unit next to the Customer Service desk.

The private facility is for members of the public who are symptomless and do not qualify for NHS emergency testing.

Reasons for needing a test include require a negative result either to visit family members, or to fly abroad to green destinations after restrictions ease on Monday, May 17.

The site at Victoria Leeds is the second ExpressTest site in Leeds, with the first being a drive-through facility at Headingley Stadium.

It is one of ten new sites to open across the UK before the end of May.

This expansion means that 80 per cent of the population will be within a 60-minute drive of a Cignpost ExpressTest site.

Bookings are now open, with tests available on the same day.

Customers must visit the website to book a test.

They will then be sent a QR code which they must bring with them to their appointment, along with their passport.

Opening hours are 10am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday.
