The post read: "We have been informed that a customer who visited the pub on Wednesday 26th August has tested positive for COVID-19.

"We are therefore required to close for a deep clean and testing and will keep all informed of when we can reopen.

"Thank you for your understanding."

The Sam Smiths pub reopened after lockdown on Saturday, July 4.

A post the day before reopening read: "There will obviously be some changes to allow for social distancing and we ask that you take your time to familiarise yourself with these when you arrive and please ask if there is anything that is not clear.

"Cars are no longer able to use the car park so please leave them at home.

"If you are shielding, unwell or have been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 please do not come to the pub

"We have sanitiser points throughout the pub and a one way system in place. Entrance is via the side door only.

"Our capacity is reduced to allow for social distancing and when we are full sadly you will be turned away."
