Leeds areas with less than nine new Covid cases this week as city kept in Tier 3

Leeds is to remain under Tier 3 restrictions, despite cases falling in many areas of the city.

Leader of Leeds Council, Judith Blake, said that Leeds could have "safely" moved down to Tier 2 but to remain in the Very High alert over Christmas is "disappointing." Most areas of the country have remained in their current tiers or moved up a level. Just two areas - Bristol and North Somerset and Herefordshire - were moved down into lower tiers. The case rate in Leeds is currently around 136 cases per 100,000 people. All the areas of Leeds below have had fewer than nine cases of Covid within the last week.
