Measures have been taken by schools across Leeds to limit the spread of coronavirus, including staggered start times, social distancing and creating year group bubbles. This allows schools to easily identify those who may need to self-isolate if someone within the bubble tests positive for the virus. These are the 22 Leeds schools where positive cases have been confirmed and bubbles disbanded as of Wednesday September 23.
13. Pudsey Grangefield
Pupils have been sent home after two people tested positive for coronavirus at Pudsey Grangefield School, the school confirmed on Thursday, September 17. The two cases are not linked to each other.
14. Leeds East Academy
A whole year group bubble at Leeds East Academy has been told to self-isolate following a confirmed case of Covid-19. A Year 8 pupil at the secondary academy, in Seacroft, has tested positive for the virus after developing symptoms on Monday, September 14.
15. The Rodillian Academy
The Rodillian Academy in Lofthouse confirmed that a Year 11 student had tested positive for the virus on Monday, September 14. However, following consultation with Public Health England, the school has now allowed the majority of Year 11 to return to school. Photo: Google
16. Allerton High School
A Year 11 student at Allerton High School tested positive for coronavirus, the school confirmed on Wednesday, September 16. The rest of the class were sent home to self isolate for two weeks.
17. Castleton Primary School
The parents of Year Four pupils at Castleton Primary School in Wortley were sent a letter on Friday, September 11 confirming that someone had tested positive for Covid-19. Pupils who had "direct prolonged contact" with the person were asked to stay at home.
18. Lighthouse Free School Academy
Lighthouse Free School Academy closed for a "deep clean of school due to covid" on Wednesday, September 16 according to the Leeds Council website. It will remain closed until September 21.
