When and where Leeds Christmas market will open and what to expect
Preparations are well underway for Leeds Christmas markets 2025 which open tomorrow (Friday).
Organisers of the market, which will take place at City Square, Market Place, have been busy setting up. This year’s market will host up to 50 traditional chalets in its festive village, celebrating another year of food, drink and craft celebrations.
The Leeds Christmas Market will officially open at 10am on Friday November 21, running until December 21. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with a huge variety of authentic goodies including crêpes from France, Dutch pancakes, Belgian chocolates, giant bratwurst from the iconic Schwenkgrille, Yorkshire pudding wraps and Portuguese tarts.
Visitors can take a culinary trip around the world before relaxing in one of the bars, serving a selection of mulled wine, spiced ciders, and festive cocktails until late into the evening.

With free entry for all, the market offers a vibrant shopping experience for those seeking unique and meaningful gifts. Visitors can explore a selection of artisan products, from ornate Christmas decorations, intricate jewellery and handmade candles to cosy hats and scarves—perfect for ticking off that all-important shopping list.
Nirmal Bassi, Senior Market Manager of Market Place said: “We are delighted to return for our third year, bringing festive cheer to the heart of Leeds. Each year, we strive to enhance the market experience, and this season we’re introducing exciting new food and drink options alongside our much-loved favourites. We are also proud to support young and emerging businesses by partnering with the National Market Traders Federation to donate a chalet to a local entrepreneur, giving them the opportunity to trade free of charge and showcase their products to thousands of visitors.”
Leeds City Centre has so much to offer throughout the Christmas period this year with plenty of activity taking place in Millennium Square. Ice Cube will be returning with its popular ice-skating rink, Christmas stalls and funfair rides. Little Bird Artisan Market will also be located on Bond Court (off Park Row), celebrating independent producers and makers every Thursday to Sunday while the main Leeds Christmas Market is taking place.
The Market opens on the 21st November at 10am and closes on the 21st December at 6pm.
Opening hours are:
- Mon - Wed: 10am-7pm
