Here's why this doughnut business is 'really excited' to open in Leeds shopping outlet
“Opening in Yorkshire feels like a really exciting next step”
A doughnut business which began in a home kitchen has now opened its first location in Yorkshire.
Doughnotts officially opened its doors to its new kiso-style store at Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Leeds in Castleford on Friday September 4.
Alongside a range of fun-flavoured doughnuts, Doughknotts also serves freshly-made coffee and iced drinks.

Wade Smith, director at Doughknotts, described opening in Yorkshire as the start of the business’ expansion.
Wade said: “Over the last year we've put a huge amount of work into the business behind the scenes, from bakery production and logistics to marketing and our wider infrastructure.
“That investment has given us the capacity to grow while still doing things the Doughnotts way. Opening in Yorkshire feels like a really exciting next step and a sign that all of that work is paying off.”
Doughnotts was created back in 2015 by Wade alongside Meg Scaddan.
With a £10 budget to spend on ingredients and a home kitchen to bake in, neither expected their bakery business would become popular across the UK.
Now, with Doughnotts bakeries in places such as Nottingham, Lincoln, and Beeston, alongside nationwide delivery, the business has quickly grown.
However, Meg and Wade have maintained the same approach they had from the very start.
Wade said: “The thing that makes us unique is the fact that we are always pushing to make the best doughnuts we can. We are authentic. We don’t try and be something that we’re not.
“We’re independent. We’re just obsessed with doughnuts and making people happy. We’ve never really been interested in doing things the boring way.”

The brand is known for creating fresh doughnuts with a wide range of experimental flavours.
Wade’s personal menu recommendation is the Cinnamon Scroll, an autumnal-themed treat served all year round.
“It uses the same dough as all our doughnuts so stays light and soft, but hits the spot every time, especially with a coffee,” Wade said.
“If you can’t decide however, we have a deal of 4 for £16, so to anyone wanting to try a few flavours or share with friends, you can.”

According to Wade, Doughnotts is a brand not only defined by its sweet treats and drinks, but by the community it creates too.
He hopes that by opening the latest branch of the brand in Yorkshire, this much-loved customer base will expand even wider.
Wade said: “We're really excited to be opening at Leeds Designer Outlet. It's a brilliant location because of the mix of people who visit, from families and younger customers to people simply looking for somewhere to grab a great coffee and a doughnut.
“That's exactly what we love about Doughnotts: our customers are incredibly diverse, but what brings everyone together is the Doughnotts community.”
