From a much-awaited cafe and a new Ibiza-style bar in the city centre to a pizza joint in Kirkstall and a gym in Seacroft, they all bring something unique to Leeds' ever-evolving hospitality and leisure offering.
Here are eight new openings you have to try – and five more on the way soon.
13. Olive and Thai - opening TBC
The team behind popular Leeds city centre cafe Olive and Rye are set to open a new Thai restaurant. Signs have gone up in the premises adjoining the Queens Arcade cafe for 'Olive and Thai', which promises to be an 'exciting new Thai cafe' coming soon to Leeds. The YEP has contacted Olive and Rye for more information. Photo: Joseph Keith
14. Tamatanga - opening TBC
A popular Indian restaurant is set to make its Leeds debut by taking over a vacant Headrow site. Tamatanga, known for its funky murals and large communal tables, is a favourite for residents in Nottingham, Birmingham and Leicester. And it now looks set to expand further by opening a new store in Leeds, after lodging an official licensing application with Leeds City Cuncil to takeover the vacant former George's Great British Kitchen site on the Headrow.
