This week we fancied a spot of baking and added plain flour to the list, with Sainsbury’s and Aldi coming in joint cheapest for a 1.5kg bag. Aldi also came back with the best price for tinned rice pudding and a pack of four Aberdeen Angus beef burgers at 33p and £2.69 respectively.

Which Leeds supermarket was most affordable?

As our table shows, overall, the most affordable place to buy this week’s shopping basket was Aldi, which has superstores in Regent Street, Evanston Avenue, Tunstall Road, North Side and Harrogate Road.

Our 19-item price comparison basket came in at just £19.84. Prices are correct as of Thursday 18 February.

Lidl and Asda were unable to participate in our price comparison this week.
