The post said the pub would be 'coming soon' and encouraged followers to sign up to its newsletter for updates.

The full tweet said: "We've arrived! The Crown Hotel at Boston Spa, coming soon. Sign up to our newsletter for updates: http://thecrownbostonspa.com."

The pub's full address will be 128 High Street, Boston Spa, Wetherby, Leeds, LS23 6AL.

A planning application was put into Leeds City Council in late 2017 to convert the pub into a branch of the Co-op.

However, Leeds City Council refused the plans on the grounds of lack of space for deliveries and customer parking in February 2018.

Leeds City Council officials met to rule on whether applicant Further Afield Pubs Ltd can operate the site as a pub once again in August 2020 but the panel did not publicly reveal what was agreed at the end of the meeting.

The council’s licensing sub-committee met for more than two hours with around half being held in private.
