Aldi shoppers furious after Gardenline Hanging Egg Chair sells out online within hours

The Gardenline Hanging Egg Chair is hugely coveted by bargain hunting shoppers.

It has sold out in stores and online almost immediately each time Aldi restocks it.

However, the store gave shoppers another chance to get their hands on it this weekend.

The Gardenline Hanging Egg Chair was back on the Aldi website as an online-only exclusive on Sunday, April 25.

It was priced at £ 149.99.

The chair is described as: "This amazing Gardenline Hanging Egg Chair is the ideal way to relax in stylish comfort.

"Perfect for the patio or conservatory, this comfortable rattan effect hanging chair will be your seat of choice.

"Simply swing up your legs and make the most of that comfortable space! Pour yourself an ice-cold drink, grab a good book and enjoy those long summer days and lighter evenings."

Features include being weather-resistant, a powder-coated frame and additional feet for extra stability.

It has a three year warranty.

Orders were restricted to one per person, but shoppers complained after the chair sold out within hours.

One reviewer said: "What a joke, Aldi definitely going to lose loyal customers over this. I'm pretty angry".

Another added: "Waste of time and effort- website crashes, tried several times to purchase this Holy grail..... you guessed it still searching, down my local garden centre - should have gone there in the forest place", while another said: "What a load of rubbish, been awake since 5:30 refreshing the page every 20 mins, got to 8am, got the add to basket button lit, pressed it, and it crashed absolutely gutted."

However, one user managed to bag herself one of the chairs on her third attempt.

They said: "Third time lucky! Can’t believe I managed to get one.

"I have been refreshing since 5:30 am, as quick as a flash at 8.01 the add to basket went BLUE.

"Trying to check out was a little frustrating but I put that down to an overload of people on line.

"Looking forward to receiving my ‘egg chair’.

"Tired but over the moon. Thank you Aldi. Now I can relax!!"
