Holme Wood ready for the fun of the Christmas fair

For the second successive year, Realise will be providing strong support for the Christmas Fair at St Christopher’s Church on Holme Wood Road between 2.30pm and 6pm on Friday, December 13.

The event, which will be free to enter, proved extremely popular last year with more than 600 visitors enjoying over 20 stalls and vendors.

Father Christmas will be in attendance in a special Santa’s Grotto hosted on Realise’s orange bus which it uses to train new bus drivers on its Route to Success programme.

Realise opened its Bradford Skills Hub two years ago at The Holme Centre at Holme United Reformed Church and has since delivered training courses to hundreds of local residents to enhance their career prospects.

Dan Goodall, Operations Director for Adult Learning at Realise, said: “We have hosted a number of events at Holme Wood over the last two years and, while all of them have been fantastic and very much enjoyed by local residents, last year’s Christmas Fair was a very special occasion.

“We are delivering a bigger and better Christmas event this year and there will be lots for people of all ages to enjoy as we celebrate the festive period.

“It will be a true family occasion and presents will be handed out to local children to add to the excitement.”

Realise is working in partnership with The Sutton Centre to bring the event to life, while there will also be street bands and story-telling for children.

Realise representatives will also be on hand to inform people about the courses currently running from the Skills Hub to help individuals upskill.

These include English and maths functional skills, early years skills bootcamps and Route to Success.
