It appears that a number of the original Mighty Ducks cast from the ‘90s films will be showing their faces once more in the new TV series set to be released in 2021.

Entertainment Weekly published an exclusive shot of six of the original cast members in their Duck uniforms alongside their old ice hockey coach, positioned in the ‘flying V’ formation.

Elden Henson, Matt Doherty, Vinny La Russo, Marguerite Moreau, Garrette Henson, and Justin Wong are expected to reprise their roles from The Mighty Ducks films for the sixth episode.

Could there be room for one or two others, namely Joshua Jackson of Dawson’s Creek fame who played Charlie Conway in the original film, to join them…?

The Disney Plus remake has had a long road leading up to its release, after it was given the nod in January 2018 to develop a series based on the original Mighty Ducks films.

Writer Steven Brill returns to pen the new 10-episode series.

Filming was disrupted by the Covid pandemic in early 2020 and was rescheduled twice before it was announced that it could officially begin in August ahead of a 2021 release.

The first episode of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will be available from Friday 26 March on Disney Plus, with new episodes expected to drop each Friday from 8am.
