From famous features to lesser-known gems, Leeds is no stranger to film crews and cameras. Yorkshire's largest city has featured in a number of major productions and the screen industry has grown in recent years. Here are 13 films and TV shows filmed in our city, including some which might surprise you:


. Yorkshire Firefighters, 2021
The new BBC documentary follows West Yorkshire's firefighters as they serve the county's two million-strong community, from factory blazes to house fires, traffic accidents to helping ambulance crews. It features many of the stations and crews in Leeds.

. At Home with the Braithwaites, 2000-2003
The ITV comedy-drama series follows a suburban family in Leeds, whose life is turned upside down when the mother of the family wins 38 million pounds on the lottery. It ran from 2000 to 2003. Pictured is actress Sarah Churm, who played Sarah, during filming in Leeds

. Red Riding, 2009
Red Riding is a thrilling trilogy based on David Peace's cult noir novels about Yorkshire during the 70s and 80s, released on Channel 4 in 2009. It looked at serial murders, including the Yorkshire Ripper, and featured the former Yorkshire Evening Post newsroom.

. Married Single Other, 2010

6. No Angels, 2004-2006
The Channel 4 comedy-drama series followed the lives of three nurses and a healthcare assistant from Leeds, showing their lives in and out of the hospital.
