The event, designed to inspire, educate and elevate students, featured live competitions, demonstrations and industry-led judging, giving learners invaluable exposure to professional standards and career pathways.
Some of the industry’s biggest and most respected names took part as judges and demonstrators, offering insight, mentorship and real-world feedback to the next generation.
Thanks to the support of major professional brands, the event raised over £8,000 in sponsorship prizes, ensuring students were rewarded not only with recognition but with high-quality tools and products to support their future careers.
A spokesperson said: "Feedback from both students and visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the event for its inclusive atmosphere, high standards and the rare opportunity to network with leading industry figures.
"Lecturers and attendees alike highlighted the value of seeing colleges collaborate rather than compete, reinforcing the strength of Yorkshire’s hair and barbering education sector."
The event’s founder and organiser Tracy Mangan commented: “Bringing seven Yorkshire colleges together under one roof was incredibly powerful.
"The standard of work, the enthusiasm of the students and the support from industry exceeded all expectations."
"This is just the beginning — the aim is for this to become a regular fixture that continues to raise aspirations and create real opportunities for learners.”
With strong industry backing, outstanding feedback and clear educational impact, the Yorkshire Student Hairdressing and Barbering Event is set to become a key date in the regional education and professional calendar, supporting students as they take their first steps into the industry.
