June Norton, a senior carer at The Dales care home in Draughton, marked the milestone with residents, colleagues, friends and family.

Originally from Haworth, June joined the care home in 1997 after applying for a housekeeping role. During her interview, she spoke about helping to care for her father and was encouraged to consider a career in care instead.

Nearly 30 years later, she remains part of the team and says she still enjoys working with residents and colleagues.

Reflecting on her approach to life, June said: "Just keep going. I'm not a fan of sitting down."

The birthday celebrations included a reception attended by residents, relatives and staff at the home.

Roisin Doyle, general manager at The Dales, said June was a valued member of the team who had spent many years supporting residents and colleagues alike.
