West Yorkshire Homebuilder steps up community cupport
For this year’s Volunteers’ Week (1st to 7th June), Barratt and David Wilson Homes is celebrating a significant rise in employee volunteering over the last year, as colleagues dedicate more time than ever to supporting local charities and community organisations.

The Leeds-based housebuilder offers every employee two paid volunteering days each year, encouraging teams to give back to causes making a difference across the region.
Over the last year, employees at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West completed over 100 volunteering days – a significant increase compared to the previous year as the developer continues to strengthen its support for local communities.

The recent volunteering initiatives completed by Barratt and David Wilson Homes employees include delivering beds for Zarach, sorting and organising fruit and vegetables at Surplus to Purpose, as well as multiple days supporting The Well Project and Street League.
Held annually from the first Monday in June, Volunteers’ Week shines a spotlight on the invaluable role volunteers play in communities across the UK. The nationwide campaign recognises and celebrates the dedication of those who give their time to help others and make a lasting impact.
Gavin Birch, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many of our colleagues embracing the opportunity to volunteer and support worthwhile causes in the communities where we build.
“The increase in volunteering days reflects the passion our teams have for making a positive difference locally, and we’re incredibly proud of the time and energy they continue to give.
“We’re excited to build on this momentum and support even more charities and community groups in the year ahead.”
