Second Chance Headway strengthens support for community
Wakefield-based Second Chance Headway has announced plans to consolidate its operations by stepping away from its additional site at Westgate in Wakefield.
This positive decision will allow the charity to focus resources directly on frontline services and continue providing the best possible care for individuals affected by brain injury.

By reducing overhead costs during a challenging time for the third sector and bringing teams together, the charity can reinvest savings into programme development, outreach, and direct support for service users.
This step ensures that more of every pound raised goes where it matters most, helping people with brain injury rebuild their lives and access vital rehabilitation and wellbeing services.

Nathan Garbutt-Moore, Senior Management at Second Chance Headway said: “This is a forward-looking move that will strengthen our charity for the future. We are focusing our time, energy, and resources on what truly counts: the people and families who depend on us.”
Second Chance Headway Centre on Almshouse Lane in Wakefield remains open as normal to all service users and carers, no staff in the charity are being made redundant because of the change.
