Pegasus takes flight with 20th anniversary celebrations in the West End

Pegasus World, the Leeds-based trading, logistics and investment group, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a glittering party in London’s West End.

The event, which is being held at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall on Tuesday June 30, will be attended by the chairman of the Conservative Party, the Rt Hon Kevin Hollinrake MP and a host of industry leaders.

Pegasus, which is based at the 75,000 sq ft Curo House at Logic Leeds, close to Junction 45 of the M1, was founded by Ivan Zhou in 2006 and has just announced a record-breaking financial year.

The company, which is the fastest growing textiles business in the UK, now comprises five successful divisions: Pegasus Group, Pegasus Textiles, Pegasus Investment, Curo Fulfilment and Curo Freight, all driven by efficiency, innovation and excellence.

Ivan Zhou commented: “Our 20th anniversary party, to be held in the magnificent surroundings of the RAC Club, is a very important landmark in the company’s history. It not only celebrates what we have achieved, but also enables us to thank everyone who has made our achievements possible.

“We are honoured to have the chairman of the Conservative Party, Kevin Hollinrake MP, as our guest of honour. Kevin has been a loyal and supportive friend of Pegasus since our early days and we are delighted he can join us on the very special occasion.”

Reflecting on the success of Pegasus, Mr Zhou, a graduate of the University of York, commented: “The pursuit of excellence is at the heart of everything we do at Pegasus.

"This is demonstrated by the quality of our products, our rapid but sustainable growth and our commitment to create a business culture founded on trust, respect and integrity.

"We are very proud of the relationships we have with our customers, our suppliers and our staff.”

The growth of the company has been organic. Since its launch 20 years ago, Pegasus has been a pioneer in sourcing top-tier textiles, medical and hygiene products from global manufacturers, which are then “meticulously vetted and delivered with precision”.

Ivan Zhou continued: “Our business is built on the key pillars of passion, commitment, aspiration and vision. These have enabled us to grow – from humble beginnings - into a respected player in the textiles’ world.”

Pegasus World's success has led to the creation of Curo Fulfilment, which has proved to be a significant addition to Yorkshire’s burgeoning supply chain sector, creating new and sustainable jobs.

Indeed, sustainability is an integral part of Pegasus World’s business philosophy, as Mr Zhou explained: “We do business in a way that minimises environmental and social impact. Environmental degradation and inadequate social conditions are among the biggest threats to a brighter global future.

He added: “The significant increase in turnover during the past 12 months is a resounding endorsement of what we do and a wonderful reflection on the hard work and commitment of our employees.

“We are exceptionally proud of what we have achieved over the past 20 years, creating new and sustainable jobs and providing a significant and timely boost to the economy in Leeds. Now we are looking forward to the next 20 years with confidence and hope.”
