As part of a special arts and crafts activity, talented resident Margaret Williams shared her wish to create Valentine’s decorations for everyone to enjoy around the home. True to its ethos of making wishes come true, Windsor Court was delighted to support her creative idea.
Using simple materials including cardboard, tissue paper and PVA glue, Margaret carefully constructed a stunning giant heart hanging decoration, which now takes pride of place in the home. She also worked alongside fellow residents to create beautiful Valentine’s table decorations, bringing colour, warmth and a festive atmosphere to shared spaces.
The project took place over several sessions, with residents and staff coming together to help, chat and enjoy the creative process. The activity not only showcased artistic talent but also provided a wonderful opportunity for social connection and fun.
Residents were full of praise for the finished decorations. Elsie Frost said: “The heart is beautiful, really good.”
Resident Chaz Hardy added: “It looks really good hanging on the wall.”
Ursula Herbert, Activities Co-ordinator at Windsor Court Care Home, said: “It’s been lovely to see residents working together and taking so much pride in what they’ve created.
"Margaret’s idea brought everyone together, and the decorations have really brightened up the home.”
