Isabel Maria brings Because I Care UK your to Leeds
Award-winning North East-based artist Isabel Maria will shortly arrive in Leeds as part of her upcoming UK headline tour.
The run of shows ties in with the release of the artist's sophomore EP, Because I Care, which will be unveiled on Friday April 17.
Because I Care, is a five track force spanning themes of self-acceptance, regret, mental health, human relationships, and the overall tumultuous experience of being a teenage girl.
Because I Care comes after an intense year for Isabel Maria - live shows stacked up one after the other, international writing camps, working towards a music degree - but squeezed into the gaps were small studio getaways in Newcastle’s Blank Studios, where Isabel used Youth Music funding to craft her five chosen songs with regular collaborator Josh Ingledew.
The EP contains a multitude of tracks and themes: epic cinematic opener and title track Because I Care; self deprecating dropout anthem Did I Deserve It?; wistful cautionary friendship tale Fairweather Friends; emotionally gritty mental health ballad Not Scared At All; and Sixteen, a mournful examination of youth which ties the collection together with a shiny-eyed ribbon.
And 2026 promises a big year for Isabel - to go alongside Because I Care is a six date UK headline tour, taking her new material to Sunderland, London, Worcester, Edinburgh, Berwick and Leeds.
Aside from the full band shindig at Isabel’s favourite hometown venue, Sunderland’s Pop Recs, the shows will be intimate solo experiences, taking place in bookshops and cosy seated spaces, a chance to witness Isabel at the top of her game, and hear the EP in full amongst old favourites.
Isabel Maria will perform in Leeds on Tuesday April 28 at Hyde Park Book Club. For ticket information and further details please visit: https://isabelmariamusic.com.
