A donation of £1,500 has been made to Dial Wood Carriage Driving for the Disabled from the team at Amazon in Wakefield.
Dial Wood Carriage Driving in Flockton offers opportunities for disabled people to learn carriage driving, receive riding therapy, learn about horse care and enjoy the experience of a carriage drive.

Alongside the donation, which funded the purchase of paints, adhesive, and safety equipment, 12 team members from Amazon in Wakefield volunteered for two days with the charity, installing mats for ease of access for participants.
Ademola Bakare from Amazon in Wakefield said: “The team really enjoyed fitting and installing this new safety equipment at Dial Wood.

"Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy all that this innovative charity has to offer, whether that’s ‘tea with a pony’ or experiencing a carriage ride.”
Audrey Honeyman from Dial Wood Carriage Driving for the Disabled, added: “We’re privileged to have operated our premises here since the 1990s, bringing our unique carriage driving facilities to those with disabilities of all kinds.
"The donation and volunteering efforts from the team at Amazon has been a massive help for us, to ensure our activities remain as seamless and enjoyable as always.”
Community donations and employee volunteering are just two of the ways Amazon supports the communities where it operates.
Amazon co-founded the Multibank initiative with former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown to support families in need. ‘Brick-by-Brick’ Multibank opened in Wigan in 2023, with The Brick. The Multibank network has donated more than 12 million surplus goods to over 800,000 families across Greater Manchester, Scotland, Wales, London, Tees Valley and Birmingham. This year, the Multibank will send 1 million orders to families across the UK.
Amazon has supported more than one million students across the UK with free STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer and helps community organisations transport meals and other essentials to families in need through its pro bono logistics programme, Amazon Local Good.
Amazon partners with Comic Relief and is the official home of the charity’s iconic Red Nose. Together with its employees, customers, and partners, Amazon has raised over £4.8 million to fund projects that support people across the UK, and around the world.
