Barry Steele's Roy Orbison Story
Music lovers in Ilkley are in for a memorable evening this summer as Barry Steele brings his acclaimed production, The Roy Orbison Story, to King’s Hall on Friday 12 June 2026.
The show, which has toured extensively across the UK, celebrates the life and music of Roy Orbison—one of rock and roll’s most distinctive and enduring voices. Steele, joined by a full live band, is widely recognised for his remarkable ability to recreate Orbison’s sound, delivering powerful performances of timeless classics including “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “Crying,” and “Only the Lonely.”

The production also pays tribute to the Traveling Wilburys, the iconic supergroup that featured Orbison alongside George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty. Their much-loved hits add an extra dimension to the evening, offering audiences a broader journey through some of the greatest songs ever recorded.

Described as “the real deal,” the show combines authenticity, musicianship, and a strong connection with audiences. With its blend of nostalgia, energy, and high-quality performance, it promises to be a great night out with something for everyone.
The performance begins at 7:30pm at King’s Hall, Ilkley, one of West Yorkshire’s most historic and atmospheric venues.
Tickets are available via the box office on 01943 432000, or through the venue’s official website. Early booking is advised, as strong demand is expected for what is shaping up to be a standout event in Ilkley’s live entertainment calendar.
