Leeds electronic pioneers Utah Saints have beefed up the line-up for their highly anticipated outdoor summer dance party at Millennium Square.

Announced moments ago, Club Classical Ibzia, taking place on June 26, the duo has confirmed that dance legends Rozalla and Shades of Rhythm will join them for the one-night-only event.

Rozalla became a global household name in 1991 when her anthem ‘Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)’ topped dance charts across the world, later leading her to open for Michael Jackson on his Dangerous tour.

Meanwhile, Peterborough duo Shades of Rhythm are considered instrumental in the early 90s hardcore and house explosion. Known for iconic tracks like ‘Sound of Eden’ and ‘Extacy,’ they were one of the few electronic acts of the era to successfully transition from the underground rave circuit to mainstream chart success, making them a perfect fit for a symphonic reimagining.

They join a high-profile ensemble that already includes the 50-piece Symphony Orchestra of Opera North and special guest vocalist Janice Robinson (of Livin’ Joy fame).

The curation for this show is a Club vs Classical deep dive into 90s heritage, and with both Rozalla and Shades of Rhythm will be performing their iconic hits with a full orchestral twist for the very first time in Leeds.

For Utah Saints’ Jez Willis and Tim Garbutt, this is a chance to showcase their heritage on home turf.

The duo will present bespoke orchestral interpretations of their own early-90s singles, including ‘Something Good’ and ‘What Can You Do For Me,’ alongside resident DJ and Dance Music Archive co-founder Andi Durrant.
