It was back in 1997 that the nation was first introduced to Adam and Rachel, Peter and Jenny, Karen and David and this new series has once again been written by Mike Bullen.

Adam (Nesbitt) returns from working abroad to make an announcement that not everyone is thrilled about. Meanwhile Pete (Thomson) and Jenny (Ripley) are victims of the economic downturn and having gone their separate ways David (Bathurst) and Karen (Norris) are both coming to terms with singledom.

“I never thought we would do it again. Then I opened the scripts and thought, ‘Oh my God, there they are’. Enough time had gone by,” says Nesbitt.

“Those familiar, yet distant characters leapt off the page and they still had something to say. It was fascinating to see them after that gap of time, where their lives were and where they were going to
go.

“Mike Bullen’s scripts are brilliant. It’s easy to forget just how innovative Cold Feet was at the time. And I think that magic is still there.”

Cold Feet, ITV, Monday, 9pm
