As well as the individual tragedies involves in every death from the virus, everyday life in 2020 has also turned upside down - whether you've been directly affected by Covid-19 or not. But the Leeds we love is still going strong, and even if the pandemic shows no signs of stopping yet, we can still look to the future. Here are nine things we're looking forward to in Leeds in 2021.

7. Leeds Carnival
The annual Leeds West Indian Carnival - the oldest in Europe - moved online this year - but founder Arthur France hopes that it will be "back with a bang" in 2021.

8. Quicker journeys through the city centre
The £23m Headrow scheme is set to transform transport in the city centre into a "world-class gateways for bus users, pedestrians and cyclists". It's set to be completed by spring 2021.

9. Running races
Leeds Half Marathon and Leeds 10k may still return later this year, depending on circumstances - but if you'd prefer to run in the summer months, there's always 2021.
