These stunning photographs - posted on Mark's History Facebook page - show a route through Rodley which includes an amazing bridge, kissing gates and features along the canal. Here is an advised route posted by Mark, and remember - you should only be exercising in your local area during lockdown:
7. Railway Bridge
'Keep following the footpath along the wall at the top edge of the field and you will come to a kissing gate(6). Twice I have seen couples kissing here. Follow the path once you are through the kissing gate and you will come to the old railway bridge(7).'
8. Newlaithes
'The bridge dates back to the 1840s and leads you to Newlaithes if you turn right.'
9. Rodley
'Once you reach the end of the woods the Ring Road is right in front of you(9). Going up it leads you to Horsforth and going down towards Rodley and the canal. It is worth going down towards Rodley just for the views from the bridges(10-11) on the Ring Road.' Photo: Mark's History
