Snow sledging run installed at White Rose Shopping Centre for Blue Monday

Anyone looking for a bit of respite from the January blues can head down to the White Rose Shopping Centre on Monday for some snow sledging fun.

White Rose have put up a nine metre real snow slope to The Village, by Cineworld, ready for customers young and old to sledge down.

It's been timed to coincide with Blue Monday, the so-called most depressing day of the year.

The slope, made up of several tonnes of snow, was in place on Sunday and will remain at White Rose until 6pm on Monday.

Steven Foster, General Manager of White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “There’s ‘snow’ greater fun than speeding downhill on a sledge, it reminds us of childlike joy. We wanted to bring a little taste of that caref ree wonder to White Rose this January.

“We’re passionate about putting smiles on our visitors’ faces all year round, and we know that January can be a long month for some. It’s been a delight to hear plenty of laughter from The Village this Blue Monday."
