7. Trans Penine Trail
You can join the long-distance Trains Penine Trail route from Knowsthorpe Quay, just 10 minutes from Leeds Dock. The Garforth to Woodlesford section is a particularly scenic part of the trail, offering countryside views.
8. Bramhope Circular
The Bramhope Circular walk is a gentle walk that begins at Bramhope, near the Fox and Hounds pub. It is approximately 5 miles.
9. Meanwood Valley Trail
The Meanwood Valley Trail is seven mile linear walk runs from Woodhouse Moor, along the Meanwood Valley through to Breary Marsh, next to Golden Acre Park. Meandering through pretty woodland along a relatively flat route, it is fit for all abilities.
10. Yeadon Tarn
Stretching across 17 hectares, Yeadon Tarn is a great location for a lazy stroll, as well as for more adventurous outdoor pursuits, with a playground, BMX track, bowls and water sport activities on offer.
11. Temple Newsam Park
Boasting 1,500 acres of land to explore - made up of open grassland, woodlands, a walled garden, and lakeside paths - Temple Newsam provides an idyllic spot for a leisurely stroll.
12. Roundhay Park
Covering 700 acres of parkland, lakes and woodland, walkers in Roundhay Park have plenty of scenic spots to wander around at this popular outdoor spot, incorporating both tarmac paths and woodland routes.
