Running from Saturday, May 29 to Sunday, June 6, the beach at the Leeds city centre leisure hub will feature a dinosaur egg hunt and frisbees, beachballs and bucket and spades.

The dinosaur hunt will see a number of toy eggs buried in the sand for children to dig and find, and ties in with Leeds Jurassic Trail’s official Giant Dino Egg Trail running from May 27 to June 13.

Open from 10am to 5pm throughout the week, deck chairs will be provided for parents to relax while their kids play.

The beach is free to attend.

Stephanie James, marketing manager at The Light said: “We know it’s going to be difficult for a lot of families to get away this half term, which is why we wanted to bring a taste of the seaside to Leeds.

“Our city centre beach location will be free for families from all over the city to come and use throughout the entire week, so that parents can enjoy a hard-earned rest for a short time in our beach deck chairs, while the kids have their own fun in the sand!”

The family friendly pop-up beach follows a similar Ibiza themed bottomless brunch beach event also held at The Light.
