Roundhay Festival issues statement as Kesha pulls out of 2026 event

While the line-up for Pitbull’s summer concerts in the city is almost complete, one artist has had to drop out of their previous position at Roundhay Festival 2026.

Roundhay Festival announced earlier this morning the additional support acts set to join Mr Worldwide, Pitbull, during his performance taking place this summer, and, with more to be announced, there has been one conspicuous absence from the posters in recent days.

Dutiful music fans started to notice that the previous posters for Pitbull’s show on July 3 promoted that ‘Tik Tok’ singer Kesha would be part of the inaugural festival’s line-up, but her name is no longer on any of the promotional material for the show.

That left fans guessing ‘why’ the singer would no longer be part of the proceedings - was there an issue or a problem that she had to tackle?

Well, thanks to a statement on Roundhay Festival’s social media channels, the reason is far less ‘nefarious’ than some might think.

Organisers, in their missive regarding the additions of Jason DeRulo, Tinie Tempah and Lil Jon, also explained that “Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, Kesha will no longer be joining us this July.”

It has been suggested, though, that she may come back to perform at the space at a later day, with organisers signing off on the statement saying: “We hope to welcome her to Roundhay Park in the future “

Kesha has been working on new music, having launched her own label and dropping her comeback single, ‘Joyride,’ in 2024, and has previously spoken about working on her first fully independent studio album.

Could that scheduling conflict be studio time?
