Leeds gamers and EA SPORTS FC 27 players are being offered the chance to compete at Elland Road this Sunday for a spot in a national final - and a dream trip to Miami
Virtual football players across West Yorkshire are being invited to put their skills to the test as a major global esports tournament arrives on their doorstep.
The Red Bull Wings Cup is heading to Leeds United College at Elland Road on October 18, offering local EA SPORTS FC™ 27 players the chance to battle through live qualifiers and earn a place on the world stage.
The Leeds event forms part of a nationwide series of online and offline tournaments. The strongest competitors at Elland Road will advance through to the FACEIT Closed Qualifiers, with six top UK players ultimately earning a spot at the UK National Final at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London on November 14.
The ultimate UK champion will then travel to Miami in January 2027 to represent the country at the World Final, hosted at Inter Miami’s Nu Stadium alongside popular content creator Angry Ginge and global esports pros.
Fronting the UK campaign are Red Bull ambassador Angry Ginge and EA FC pro Tekkz.
"I’m proper excited to be part of Red Bull Wings Cup," said Angry Ginge. "EA SPORTS FC is a massive part of my life and content, but this is a chance to experience it in a completely different way, with anyone able to get involved and compete for the chance to take it all the way to Miami.
“I’m looking forward to seeing who steps up and makes it to the World Final.”
Alongside the tournament, Limited Edition Red Bull Wings Cup cans are currently available in stores nationwide.
Each can features a QR code and under-tab code unlocking in-game rewards, including 250 EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Season Points, an exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup Ultimate Team kit, and a Loan Player item.
