It will be the first of four Party in the Park evening concerts at the park this summer, with S Club 3, part of a 90’s weekend, on Saturday, July 28; Pixie Lott, on Saturday, August 18 and another 90’s weekend, featuring Vengaboys, on Saturday, September 1.

White knuckle thrills are also on the bill, with a sensational collection of eight extreme rides, including the latest roller coaster Hero - putting visitors in a superhero flying position before swooping them around a track. There's also a zoo with lions and tigers, plus so much more.

Top new attractions include a new Peter Rabbit Adventure playground - with twice daily character appearances - Flamingo 1 racing cars and the arrival last year of a female Sumatran tiger cub, Menya.

The Yorkshire venue, which boasts a theme rides park and zoo in Kirby Misperton - a short drive between Scarborough and York - is handy for repeat visits from all over the region. It is just over an hour from Leeds and less than two hours from Sheffield.

Party in the Park concerts become a firm Flamingo Land favourite, with thousands of visitors enjoying previous star guests including Scouting for Girls, Heather Small, Union J, and many more.

Merrygold shot to fame in chart-topping boy band JLS after they were discovered on the X Factor.

His latest solo singles include Get Stupid and Precious.

In 2013 he became a judge on the TV dance talent show Got to Dance and last autumn he took part in TV hit show Strictly Come Dancing.

"Guests can buy a theme park ticket for the day which then gives them free access to the concert.

"Alternatively they can arrive at 5pm for an hour in the theme park followed by the concert for just £10 each.”

The venue haa a wide variety of food and drink outlets around the outdoor Riverside One stage, so concert goers and other visitors can make it a social occasion.

The concert will include a full supporting bill from 6pm and the event ends around 10.30pm.

Visitors at Flamingo Land can enjoy a big choice of junior and family rides. There is even the Guinness World Record Breaking Mumbo Jumbo, with the steepest drop.

Brand new for 2018 is a Peter Rabbit and Lily Bobtail Story Time, costing £5 per person.

Most attractions once inside the park are free

Based on the Cbeebies animated series is the new Peter Rabbit Adventure playground.

Explore the Secret Tree House and hop along to Jeremy Fisher’s musical pond to explore giant instruments and learn about sounds from the giant lily pads.

Fans of all ages will love Lily Bobtail’s Nature Discovery where children can climb on tunnels and find creepy crawly creatures in Bug Log.

Youngsters can also meet Peter Rabbit himself, located by the Mansion House and Tea Rooms, with appearances at 12.30pm and 3pm.

Other favourite children' characters are on show - at no additional cost - include Peppa Pig and George, on June 16; Ben and Holly, May 26; Catboy and Owlette from PJ Masks - Super Hero Day, on July 21; The Gruffalo, on August 11.

Tot’s party celebrations include singing, dancing and face-painting.

All the attractions in Dino-Stone Park have a dinosaur theme. Soar 45 metres into the air on the Pterodactyl swing, spin on the family coaster Twistosaurus and pedal on Cyclosaur. See animatronic dinosaurs, life-size Dino skeletons and search for dinosaur bones in the Dino Dig sand.

Pirates of Zanziba, an outdoor show on the Black Heart galleon ship, features singing, dancing, special effects and acrobatics.Benjamin Bunny also stars in the Sail Away farewell show, weather permitting, at the exit of the theme park at 5pm.

Flamingo 1 is where guests, young and old, can enjoy driving two seater family racing cars over a 380-metre circuit.

Featuring a figure-of-eight format, guests enjoy side-by-side racing over three individual lanes. Most of the circuit is outdoors but it also passes through a Hub building where spectators can watch the action from a dedicated elevated viewing area, while enjoying champion fish and chips.

Visitors can create their own best friend at Teddy Mountain, where after selecting your chosen bear, you can add stuffing to it yourself and select its outfit.

Flamingo Land's rainbow lorikeet walk-in aviary is also proving popular, where visitors can buy a pot of nectar to feed the brightly coloured birds.

The park is also one of the UK’s most visited zoos, with 140 species of reptiles, mammals and birds.

A variety of Keeper Talks and a sea lion and bird show are included in the admission price.

For unrestricted views, meander through the lemur, wallaby and rainbow lorikeet walkways. You can book yourself into a choice of Animal Experiences in advance to enjoy during your visit.

The venue is a popular base for short breaks or longer holidays, located at the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

Flamingo Land Holiday Village is situated next to the theme park, and offers luxury accommodation from holiday homes to premium lodges. For guests wantug to be at the heart of the action, four self-catering cottages are available.

Featuring two and three bedroom options with hot tubs, Riverside Cottages are located alongside Riverside One. There is also the premium venue, The Gate House, available for hire, which is within the local village, Kirby Misperton.

Visitors can take their own touring caravans, motorhomes or tents, or buy their own holiday home.

Staying guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool with flume slides and water jets, plus newly refurbished leisure facilities including a gym, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and cafe.

There is also a nine hole golf course. The Club is a premium entertainment venue for Holiday Village guests.

The Mansion House and Tea Rooms was renovated a couple of years ago and allows guests to step back in time and enjoy traditional English refreshments, served in elegant surroundings.

Evening dining is also available on selected dates for non-residents and resort guests and is also available to hire for parties and corporate events.

Flamingo Land have been granted a licence for civil wedding ceremonies in the Mansion House, which is also situated adjacent to the local village church.

A wedding could also incorporate animal interaction, such as a lemur experience or being married on the wooden decking located within the zoo. Christenings and private parties are also catered for.
