Leeds IKEA to host £5 all-you-can-eat meatball buffet for one night only

There will be a ‘meatball bouncer’ on the door for the event

Meatball lovers in Leeds can tuck into an all-you-can-eat IKEA feast for just £5 next month.

The Swedish furniture giant is turning its restaurants into a meatball-filled night out for one evening only, with its IKEA Leeds store among those taking part.

On Thursday, September 24, IKEA Family members will be able to enjoy unlimited helpings of its iconic meatballs for £5, while children can join in for £1.

The restaurant will be given the “VIP treatment”, with velvet ropes, entry stamps, wristbands and a meatball-themed photo backdrop.

There will even be an IKEA "Meatball Bouncer" on hand at the entrance to dish out wristbands.

The Eatball Buffet will feature the classic Swedish meatballs served with mash or chips, peas, cream sauce and lingonberry jam.

Hungry diners will also be able to choose from IKEA's chicken meatballs, plant balls or crunchy falafel balls, all served with the usual trimmings.

Soft drinks, tea and filter coffee are also included in the £5 price.

For families, children can take part for just £1 with a free IKEA Family membership, making it a particularly cheap option for a midweek dinner.

Those without an IKEA Family membership can still take part, with tickets costing £6.95 for adults and £2.95 for children.

IKEA says the one-night event is designed to celebrate the evolution of its most famous food offering, as well as giving customers the chance to enjoy a fun and affordable night out.

Tickets can be pre-booked through the events page for participating IKEA stores, although customers can also turn up and pay at the checkout on the night.
