As thousands of music lovers prepare to head to Bramham Park at the end of the month, we put a simple question to our readers on our Facebook page: What is the single best act you have ever seen at Leeds Festival?
For me? That would be when Guns ‘n’ Roses finally made it to the stage for one of two UK performances in 2002 - London, and Leeds Festival being the other.
Despite Axl being late (and the sky is blue, to add), that knife-edge anticipation in the middle of a packed-out crowd with the threat of a riot if Mr Rose didn’t come out only added to the pure explosion of joy when ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ hit.
But what did other festival goers attest was one of the best performances they’ve ever seen at Leeds Festival over the years?
Here are 9 of the top acts and memorable moments picked by local music fans.

7. The Verve & Marilyn Manson
A nod to the sheer genre diversity of the festival’s golden era in the late 90s and early 2000s, where soaring alt-rock anthems shared bill space with full-blown shock-rock spectacles.

8. Iggy Pop

9. Imagine Dragons
Representing the modern era of stadium pop-rock, the band's massive choruses and pyrotechnic-heavy stage production earned them high praise from festival regulars. | Getty Images
