Days Out: North Yorkshire Moors Railway marks 50th anniversary with special train visit


This year is the 50th anniversary of the formation of the charitable trust and to celebrate, the popular locomotive, Royal Scot will set the wheels in motion and steam into the attraction to set off the new season in style.
Royal Scot, built in 1927, will be at the railway for people of all ages to enjoy on selected dates between March 25 and April 1 with fares including a return journey from Grosmont to Pickering.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a truly stunning attraction all year round and is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the county; allowing visitors to see 24 miles of Yorkshire’s amazing scenery across six quaint stations; one of which became Hogsmeade station in the first Harry Potter film.
