There are hands-on galleries and the chance to size up to the world’s biggest bomb for little ones – and they can also dress up as a buffer girl or grinder.

In the Melting Shop Children’s Play Area, children will love being melted like iron in our swirling ball pool before being poured, rolled, hammered and forged into an imaginary steel product, becoming anything from a fork to a submarine!

Of course, over Christmas the museum has an extra sparkle at its Victorian Christmas Market.

Taking place for the 25th year, the event boasts over 130 market stalls including Festive Food, Christmas Shop, End of Island Emporium and All That Glitters – it’s a fantastic place to find a unique gift and stocking fillers.
